Mother-Child Cohort

Research
This large longitudinal study was initiated in 1996. More than 2000 pregnant women from the Copenhagen area were included. Their children were investigated at several time points during early infancy (at birth and at 3, 6, 18 and 36 months of age). In childhood, about 900 of the children were re-examined at 4-9 years of age. Recently, a peri-pubertal follow up of the girls in the study has been concluded. An adult follow-up investigation of father-son pairs is planned for 2016-2019.
